Saturday, August 9th - The Mabee Farm in Rotterdam Junction is hosting Early Technology Day. HVVA and DBPS members will be attending.
Saturday, July 12, 2008 – 10 am - 4 pm Hurley Stone House Day, HVVA will host a table of photographs and artifacts to promote awareness of our organizations goals. Members are needed to person the table, for various points throughout the day, please volunteer. Jim Decker will coordinate the day, (845) 527-1710. Saturday, June 21, 2008 - 10 am HVVA and DBPS combine forces for a barn tour of northern Dutchess County, lead by Bob Hedges. Tour leaves from the Quitman Resource Center located at 7015 Route 9, Rhinebeck NY.
Wednesday, May 28-Saturday, May 31, Early American Industries Association will hold its annual meeting at the Holiday Inn, Wolf Road Albany, NY. Hands on demonstrations, talks and presentations, and a great tool auction. www.EAIAinfo.org
Saturday, May 17, 2008 – 10:00 am HVVA planning meeting at the North Marbletown Firehouse, Route 209 just south of the Bevier House. Lunch to follow at the Hurley Mountain Inn.
Saturday, April 19th, 10:30am HVVA Bergen County NJ Tour. Our tour will begin at the historic Haring House owned by, Doug Johnsen (tour leader). Directions as follows: NYS Thruway to Palisades Interstate Parkway. South on Parkway until Exit (#5?), Route 303. Proceed on Route 303 for two traffic lights, then turn Left on to Oak Tree Road. Proceed about .05 miles until first traffic light, turn Right on to Piermont Road, pass golf course. Turn into #5 Piermont Rd, Rockliegh NJ. The tour will be an exciting one, the Haring house and barn, and the Kearney house which sits below the Palisades right on the Hudson River will highlight the day. Although another HVVA member George Turrell has a couple additions which might just might surprise us. Hope to see you on tour!
If you think you would like to go, email Rob Sweeney at Gallusguy@msn.com so we know an approximate number to expect. The drive form the Kingston exit of the NYS Thruway to Rockleigh NJ is about 2 hours. We will be at Doug's house for about an hour so any stragglers can catch up there.

January 25, 1008--6:30 pm, Friday. Learn Dutch Barn vocabulary in Dutch at 6:30 with a lecture at 7:00 P.M. regarding the similarities of Dutch barns in New York to those in the Netherlands. presentation held at the Huguenot Historical Society's Family Assc. Center, 54 Huguenot Street, New Paltz, New York. For more details call 845-255-0376.
January 19, 2008 - 10:00 am. Annual Meeting, held at the Benjamin Ten Broeck House, 1019 Flatbush Road, Kingston. Election of officers, planning for the 2008, and the dedication of our new office building are a few topics on the agenda. Luncheon to follow. HVVA faced a very challenging year and prove with could not only survive but grow as well. All members are welcome and encouraged to attend. Bring a bottle to celebrate!
